Keep in touch with the Bama Theatre
The Manhattan Short Film Festival will take place on September 27, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Tuscaloosa's Bama Theatre. Tuscaloosa and Montgomery (Capri Theatre) will be the only two cities in Alabama to host this 13th annual festival.
This extraordinary global event will take place throughout the week of September 26th through October 3rd when over 100,000 people in cities across six continents gather in cinemas, galleries, museums and cafes for one purpose: to view and vote on the finalists' films, a total of ten, in the festival. Audience members in each venue will be handed a voting card upon entering each cinema that will allow them to cast their ballot for best film. Votes are sent to MSFF headquarters where the winner will be announced at a later date.
Partnering cinemas are located in 200 cities in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, South America and North America, including a total of 104 venues representing all 50 States of the U.S . 440 films were entered in the competition from 43 countries. MSFF is not an online or a touring/traveling film festival. Films are distributed to individual partnering cinemas throughout the world. It is the world's first global film festival, taking place during one week.
The mission of the MSFF is to unite audiences across all seven continents of the globe for one week via the most compelling short films submitted each year . “ One World One Week One Festival” is emblazoned within the rings that surround the festival logo, and it is this mantra that sets the festival apart from any other film event of the year.
